Oysters Unnamed

Oysters Unnamed in person's handRecipe courtesy of Chef Richard Elliot, Boss Oyster, Apalachicola, Florida.

This dish is not on the Boss Oyster menu, but when I asked for something simple, and tasty, the chef said:

  • 6 oysters
  • 3 tsp crumbled bacon
  • 6 tsp grated cheddar cheese
  • couple drops hot sauce

Shuck fresh oysters. Put the oven on broil. Put 1/2 tsp of bacon and 1 tsp cheddar cheese on top of each oyster plus a couple drops of hot sauce. Broil until cheese browns and oyster curls slightly. Eat as soon as it is cool enough to put in your mouth.

Note: Consuming raw or undercooked meats poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs may increase your risk of food-borne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions. Driving an automobile can be equally as hazardous to your health.
