Buttery Bittersweet Chocolate Truffles with Mascarpone Recipe

Chocolate mascarpone truffles

Not only does creamy sweet mascarpone cheese simplify this truffle recipe, it also provides a velvety texture.

Use the best chocolate you can find and, of course, the best mascarpone cheese. We like Crave Brothers Farmstead mascarpone for its rich creaminess and super smooth texture.

4 oz. bittersweet

4 oz. milk chocolate

4 oz. mascarpone cheese

2/3 cup heavy cream

2 Tbsp. sugar

1 Tbsp. Grand Marnier, orange-flavored liqueur.

In a double boiler (or place a bowl over simmering water without allowing the bowl to touch the water), combine 4 ounces each of high-quality bittersweet and milk chocolate, room temperature mascarpone, heavy cream, sugar, and Grand Marnier.

Gently stir ingredients until mixture is creamy, smooth, and warm.

Remove from heat, cover the mixture and chill overnight. Roll refrigerated mixture into 1-inch balls, and roll truffles in 1 cup of finely chopped walnuts or pecans. You can also roll in cocoa, cinnamon/sugar, or powdered sugar.
