Spicy Sangre Orange Margarita Recipe

blood orange margarita

The folks at Peligroso Tequila, makers of 100% Blue Agave Tequila grown and harvested on a private estate in the highlands of Jalisco Mexico, share this spicy margarita recipe. It features blood orange, a deliciously complex take on orange juice that’ll give your margaritas a really different flavor.

They recommend using Peligroso Silver Tequila, but you can substitute any high-quality silver tequila.

Serrano chili, 2 slices

2 ounces Peligroso Silver Tequila (or any high-quality silver tequila)

4 ounces blood orange juice (or tangerine or mango juice)

1 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec

Juice from ½ lime
Muddle 2 slices of Jalapeño or Serrano chile with 2 oz. of PELIGROSO Silver Tequila in a shaker (or any high-quality silver tequila)

Add ice and 4 oz. of blood orange juice (or other juices, such as tangerine or mango), 1 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec and a ½ squeezed fresh lime.

Shake well and serve on the rocks in a tumbler.
