Realfoodtraveler.com writer Carla Waldemar has won second place in the Midwest Travel Writers 2015 Mark Twain Awards for her story “In Love with Russia” which recently appeared on realfoodtraveler.com. The judge said of the winning story story, “This article will make you hungry, and ready to board a long flight to St. Petersburg.”
Carla, known for her mouth-watering descriptions and quick-wit style of writing, is a veteran writer and editor. She’s served as Food Editor for Better Homes and Gardens and was Senior Editor for Cuisine magazines. In addition to writing regularly for realfoodtraveler.com, Carla is the Twin Cities editor of the annual Zagat Survey.

RFT recently won the Gold Award (first place) for Best Website from the Western Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), the largest and most prestigious travel writer professional organization.
