Pernod Absinthe Cocktail Recipes

Ansinthe cocktail Maiden's BlushAbsinthe, that mysterious, legendary, anise-flavored spirit reputed to drive people mad, is making a comeback with Pernod Absinthe. One of RFT’s spirits experts, Jeff Thomas, recently reviewed Pernod’s original recipe, which contains the traditional wormwood and herbs, including green anise, fennel,  hyssop, fennel, and star anise. Maiden’s Blush

o 1 oz of Pernod Absinthe

o 1 oz of gin

o ½ oz of fresh lemon juice

o ½ oz of sugar syrup

o 4 fresh raspberries

o 1 slice of lemon

 

Absinehe cocktail Green BeastGreen Beast

o 1 oz Pernod Absinthe

o 1 oz fresh lime juice

o 1 oz simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)

o 4 oz water

 

 

T N T Cocktail
o 1 oz Cognac

o 1 oz Pernod Absinthe

o 1/2 oz Cointreau

o Dash of Bitters

Pernod Absinthe makes interesting cocktails.

Corpse Reviver #2

Editor’s Note: This cocktail calls for Lillet Blanc, an aperitif wine that’s a blend of Bordeaux wines and citrus liqueur, that’s served chilled. You can find it at better liquor stores. 

o 1 oz gin

o 1 oz Lillet Blanc

o 1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice

o 1 oz orange liqueur (i.e. Cointreau)

o Dash of Pernod Absinthe

o Cherry for garnish

 



Jeffery Thomas

World traveler Jeffery Thomas has taught East Asian and World History at Clark College since 1999. Among other destinations in Europe and Asia, he travels frequently to Singapore, one of the world’s great food capitals. Living in Portland, Oregon has also greatly enhanced his food and beverage experiences. Jeffery is currently working on a scholarly article titled “Armchair Adventure and the American Way of Empire”, focused on the science fiction of Edgar Rice Burroughs from the 1920s.
