Last-Minute Halloween Cocktail Recipes

Ghostini cocktail(1280x853)If you’re throwing a Halloween party and you don’t have your cocktails figured out for your guests– or you just want to get into the fall spirit–some of the country’s top mixologists are here to help with some scary concoctions.


This creamy martini (pictured above) will make everyone want to be a ghost this Halloween.

1.5 oz. Vanilla Stoli Vodka

1.5 oz. Godiva White Chocolate

1/8 tsp fresh vanilla

Shake and strain in a martini glass with a marshmallow ghost.



This margarita-inspired Halloween drink, which features silver tequila and Cointreau, is offered by the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa. Their Halloween Weekend Cocktail Menu is offering gholish drinks for $10 per drink.

2 oz. 1800 silver tequila

.5 oz. Cointreau

1 oz. fresh lime juice

1 oz. simple syrup

.5 oz. orange juice

Shake and strain in a Collins glass over fresh ice with a black sugar rim and a lime wheel.


Vampire Kiss

Cranberry juice and a red candy rim make this a bloody vampire favorite.

1.5 oz. Titos Vodka

1.5 oz. Chambord

1 oz. cranberry juice

Splash of fresh lime juice

Shake and strain in a martini glass with a red candy rim.


Zak-O-Lantern cocktail (1280x1280)


Created by Whiteface Lodge’s Lead Mixologist Zachary Blair, the Zac-O-Lantern is a pumpkin-inspired highbal made only from fresh ingredients. Using spiced rum as the base, the cocktail is mixed with a handmade Hickory Syrup  combined with a homemade pumpkin puree. The pumpkin pairs well with the Hickory and this syrup has a nice woody finish.Tthe drink is topped off with club soda, making this a light, refreshing autumn cocktail.

Editor’s Note: Hickory syrup is a bit like maple syrup only it’s made from the shagbark hickory tree. You can purchase hickory syrup from sources like Wildwood’s Hickory Syrup or you can substitute birch syrup, which you can buy at places like Kihiltna’s Birchworks. Or just substitute maple syrup (use the real stuff).

2 oz spiced rum

1 oz hickory syrup

Splash of lemon

Bar spoon of pumpkin purée

Shake ingredients and pour into  high ball glass. Top with with club soda and garnish with a cinnamon stick.


Witch’s Brew

This scary brew will be sure to get your witch guests off of their brooms.

1 oz. Grey Goose Vodka

1 oz. triple sec

1 oz. blue curacao

Juice of a whole lime

Shake and strain in a martini glass with a black sugar rim.
