Summer raspberries are here–at least for a moment. While they’re here, try this summery cocktail recipe, Raspberries & Rye, from our pals at Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar in New York.
This recipe calls for simple syrup, which you can make ahead and store for a couple of weeks in your refrigerator.

2 parts Old Overholt® Rye Whiskey
1 part simple syrup (see recipe below)
1 ½ parts fresh orange juice
¼ part fresh lime juice
6 fresh raspberries
2 dashes orange bitters
Muddle raspberries with bitters in a mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients. Add ice.
Shake well until chilled. Strain into a Collins glass over fresh ice.
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
Combine ingredients in a saucepan, bring to boil and simmer until sugar is fully dissolved, stirring frequently.
Set aside to cool.
