Go to any grocery store and taste the granola in the bulk food section and chances are good, it’ll be too hard, too sweet, and, frankly, pretty tasteless. I know because I’m a granola junkie and have become a bit of an expert on what makes good granola. And Viki’s Granola is an uncomplicated, healthful granola that’s good for you and it tastes great.

Viki’s Original Granola allows the taste of oats and honey and nuts to shine through.

Viki’s Granola  started out as a homemade snack for the company founder’s family and friends. After a rousing success and sell-out at a school fundraiser featuring Viki’s original honey granola, instant demand birthed the idea to sell the product. And we’re glad about it because this is a whole grain granola that contains no fillers, no salts, and no preservatives. It’s Kosher, and gluten- and dairy-free.

Viki’s Original Granola contains gluten-free oats, organic honey, almonds, sunflower seeds, expeller pressed canola oil, unsweetened oats, and pecans. A ¼ cup contains 150 calories, (90 from fat) and a full 4 grams of fiber.

This isn’t one of those break-your-teeth granolas with big crunchy chunks. It’s a soft, chewy granola where you can actually taste the oats, the honey and the nuts.

In addition to Viki’s Original Granola (my favorite), we sampled the Apple Cinnamon, which features little pieces of pecans and dried sweetened apples and the Banana Walnut, with dried banana and walnut pieces. The company also makes Blueberry Almond and Maple Cranberry. The granolas come in 12-ounce and convenient 1.5-ounce on-the-go packs, perfect for camping, backpacking, or your next road trip.

Real Bottom Line: If you love crunchy granola with big clusters, Viki’s Granola isn’t your cereal.
