It’s not unusual for Realfoodtraveler.com stories, contributors and the site itself to win honors for excellence and we’re pleased to announce Carla Waldemar’s story, “Dublin: Dining Destination” has won second place in the Culinary Writing category in the Mark Twain Writing Contest held by the Midwest Journalists Association.
The annual contest is extremely competitive and drew more than 300 entries from professional writers from 16 states in the Midwest. The judge’s said of Carla’s Realfoodtraveler.com story, “This captures the current food scene in an engaging, informative style that makes the reader want to dive right in.”
It’s no wonder Carla, who has been contributing her wonderful stories to Realfoodtraveler.com for several years, was chosen for this important honor. Carla is a talented, long time food writer. She has served as a food editor for Better Homes and Gardens and senior editor for Cuisine magazines and is the Twin Cities editor of the annual Zagat Survey.
So please join us in congratulating Carla. You go girl! — Bobbie Hasselbring, RFT Editor
