RFT Editor Yvette Cardozo Wins Gold

Yvette Cardozo, RFT Ski Editor, Powder Stagecoach.Realfoodtraveler.com’s Ski & Dive Editor and lover of all things delicious, Yvette Cardozo, has brought home the bacon, so to speak, from the Canadian Tourism Commission by winning First Place for Online Culinary Writing in the prestigious Northern Lights Awards.

When she’s not shushing down a ski hill or diving to deep depths, Yvette can be found searching out great eats for realfoodtraveler.com readers.

Yvette is a veteran travel journalist who has been writing for realfoodtraveler.com for the past four years and has served as our Ski & Dive Editor since 2012. She won top honors for the story “Grapes On Ice,” that appeared in the online edition of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. (This story was an update of the Sun Peaks Wine Festival Yvette first wrote for realfoodtraveler.com in March 2012.) She took home a first place certificate and a handmade art blanket at the Northern Lights Awards luncheon held recently at the Fairmont in San Francisco during the annual Canada Media Marketplace, a travel industry conference.

Northern Lights is a competition for American writers and photographers who write stories about Canada and there are hundreds of entries from top writers across the country. Yvette joins the ranks of people like celebrity chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain and publications like National Geographic in being honored at this year’s highly competitive event.
