Here at RealFoodTraveler.com, we love hearing about great products that work well, and make travel easier by doing double (and even triple) duty. With Leslie Long’s review of the Mer-Sea Tassel Wrap, we get all that in addition to something pretty, functional, and that packs well – real pluses in our book.

Product review: Mer-Sea Tassel Wrap
When I’m at a beach, whether near home or on vacation, there are a few things I always need: a couple of good looking bathing suit cover ups, an extra layer when going out in the evening and a light, easy care way of achieving all that. I was so glad to receive The Mer-Sea Tassel Wrap to try out because it gives me all of those things — and more and at $49.00.
This light, breezy cotton wrap (one size fits all) comes in cool colors like taupe, indigo, and grey with a subtle pattern and matching tassels at the edges. Drape it over your shoulders, tied or untied, for a subtle beach cover up — or do the exact same thing over a dress or pants when you’re heading out at night.
I liked the variety of ways I could wear the wrap and still have it look great. You can tie it around your waist as a sarong to wear over your swimsuit or twist it around your neck for more of a dress-like cover up. And if the rays get too warm while you’re in town or at the farmer’s market, the wrap will also give your arms some welcome sun protection. The light fabric lets your suit or your clothes show through, making for a layered look that’s really pretty. See more ideas here. Mer-Sea founders Melanie Bolin and Lina Dickinson create all of their items to have a feeling of simplicity, tranquility, and utility. You’ll find that in the other items they sell too like candles, sweater wraps, and other items.
The name Mer-Sea
“Mer” means “sea” in French and when said together, the two words sound like “Merci.” What a great name because thankful is how I felt for finding one well-priced item that can do so much. As a bonus, the tassel wrap comes in a cute little cotton bag that makes washing a breeze, while also protecting the tassels. Just hang it dry and you’re ready for another day at the beach!
