Forays in France – A Flavorful Memoir Conversation with the Author

Irvina Lew is near and dear to Real Food Traveler as our esteemed Europe Editor. She has written many articles on our site over the years and has been a guest and hosted several Real Food Traveler podcast episodes! Now, she’s back to talk about her new book, Forays in France, A Flavorful Memoir. In the book, and our podcast conversation, Irvina talks about her early adventures in France, traveling solo as a 19-year-old student. She shares humorous and inspiring stories about her years of travel to France since then and gives invaluable tips for our own visits. Listen by clicking on the player below.

One of the things I loved about hearing Irvina talk about her new book, Forays in France, A Flavorful Memoir is that we learn about the range of her vibrant life and travel experiences from a teenager through her 70’s (with more trips back to France planned). Through it all, whether traveling alone, with her late husband, with friends or on her own, she does it with gusto and so much of a philosophy of “living in the moment,” it’s very inspiring. Throughout the book, Irvina also shares recipes for things she’s had in Paris that she has adapted to make at home in her own kitchen. And she shares valuable travel tips and insights as well. We all benefit by reading the book!
