One of Colorado’s most iconic hotels, The Little Nell in Aspen, is known for many luxuries, including their delicious, famous Hot Chocolate made with house-made marshmallows. While the best way to enjoy a mug is when a lodging or dining guest, The Little Nell generously shared the recipe with Ron Stern, our Hospitality Editor so that Real Food Traveler readers can enjoy it at home.

Hot Chocolate Recipe from The Little Nell in Aspen
Ingredients:
2 cups half-and-half
2 TBS granulated sugar
1 TBS Valrhona Dutch process cocoa powder
1.5 ounce Valrhona P125, an 80% dark chocolate
Pinch of salt

Directions:
Bring the half-and-half to a boil and whisk in sugar.
Bring back to a boil.
Whisk in cocoa powder, chocolate, and salt.
Top with whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate chips or a peppermint stick. (Or all of them!)
