I love reusable water bottles, not only for their benefit to the environment but because they are stylish. In my house, we have more water bottles than people. I choose a water bottle primarily because of how it looks, how comfortable it is to carry around, how well it stays closed, and how long it keeps the water cold. But recently, I was given two new water bottles that provide all of those things and so much more! One water bottle keeps my water safe to drink and more pleasurable. And the other enables me to MAKE hot or cold tea or infused waters. With them, I’ve found better ways to drink, making both water bottles great for use when I’m traveling and day-to-day life. Here are my water bottle product reviews on the Mizu 360 System and the Steepware tea infuser.

You deserve to drink good, fresh, healthy beverages – including water.

Water and more: Pure Zen Steepware

Function: With the included straw, it’s a good old water bottle. With the infuser, you can make iced fruit waters like spas and hotels do – think slices of lemon, lime, orange, strawberry, and my favorite (because the veggies are so good afterword), cucumber. Or, you can use the enclosed infuser basket for loose tea or tea bags. Cold brew. Hot brew. And spa water. Nice!

Real life use: My only complaint was that it doesn’t tell you to remove the infuser when making cold brew, so I didn’t. The infuser basket came loose and bumped me in the nose. Not a biggy but it should be removed for both hot and cold brew drinking. Here’s where you can order the Pure Zen Steepware on Amazon. Other brands use the Steepware bottle so if you don’t like the look of this particular one, there are lots of other versions that use the same technology, also on Amazon. I love that I can do cold brew and hot brew tea in there and it will hold its temperature. My favorite is Republic of Tea’s Peppermint Chocolate tea because it steeps equally well hot or cold and tastes refreshing hot or cold. Be sure to wash it by hand, using hot water and a mild dish soap, after every use. Flavored teas, like my Mint Chocolate, tend to hang around, flavoring other drinks if you don’t wash it daily.

Safer and tastier drinking: Mizu 360 System

Function: The idea here is that water that is unsafe to drink and/or just doesn’t taste good, gets safely and effectively filtered in the bottle. Of course, this can be life-saving and essential in other countries. But even in less dire situations, it is hugely helpful. My husband and I have been sharing the Mizu bottle and he took it with him camping because he knew the water available wouldn’t be okay to drink. I took it with me on a trip because I rarely like the taste of water in hotel rooms (or even in restaurants and airports). Every time, the Mizu made the bad-tasting water taste great to me. Then my husband took it back and has been using it ever since in his office because the water from the water fountains is just gross. The big plus for him there is that he doesn’t have to keep schlepping his water bottle back and forth from home to work. He can leave it there and just keep filling it.

Beyond helping save the planet by not using disposable water bottles, the big draw for us with the Mizu is that, as long as there is water to access, there is fresh, filtered water to be made! No running out, wondering where and when we can get fresh water again. We’ll be traveling internationally soon and you can bet we’ll take the Mizu with us. We’ve been using the 360 Every Day filter which removes 99.999% of virus and bacteria. But when we travel, we’ll take the bottle’s 360 Adventure Filter which gets the same 99.999% but has second layer filters that water one more time.

Real life use: It was great. Easy to use and understand, thanks to the handy booklet that comes with it. Once you understand how and when to use which filter, you’re good to go. Like the other water bottle, wash it by and (removing the filter). Here’s where you can get it on Amazon.

The Mizu water bottle can be used with a filter for city use. Or a larger one for more contaminated water sources. The Streepware comes with two kinds of infusers depending on what you’re infusing.

A recent study came out saying that the majority of water being offered on airplanes really isn’t safe to drink, nor even to wash your hands with in the bathroom, making water bottles more important than ever. Whether the study is accurate or not, it does give one pause. The Mizu is going to be our constant traveling companion, no matter where we go. In fact, we’ll probably take both the Pure Zen Steepware AND the Mizu to provide us with tea, fruit waters, and safe drinking waters.
