A World of Cooking with the Gourmia Digital Air Fryer Oven

I’m always looking for ways to make cooking easier while still making it healthy, varied and delicious. As part of that, I often make dishes from other places, whether they are specialties within the U.S. where I live, or from other countries I’ve visited or want to. That’s part of what RealFoodTraveler.com is all about, afterall – encouraging people to travel but through the lens of experiencing the local cuisine when they go (the dishes, the ingredients, the methods and the places). So, when I found out about the Gourmia XL Digital Countertop Oven with Air Fry, and was offered a sample to try, I happily agreed, specifically to see if my culinary travel cooking could really take off! What I found were several surprises to help me cook the way I like to – just easier. First, a quick overview.

The Gourmia Digital Air Fryer Oven’s Key Features

With 13 one-touch cooking functions and patented Fry Force 360 Air Frying Technology™, it’s a full kitchen makeover packed into one sleek stainless-steel appliance with French doors. Whether roasting, baking, toasting, or dehydrating, this oven makes holiday entertaining effortless—and fun.

  • Largest Countertop Air Fryer — Fits a 20 lb turkey, a 15-inch pizza, or 12 slices of bread at once.
  • Ultimate Holiday Gift — The perfect present for foodies, hosts, and families who love to cook and entertain.
  • Professional Performance, Simplified — Air fry, roast, broil, or bake—all in one.
  • Durable Stainless-Steel Construction — No Teflon coatings and includes four premium stainless-steel accessories for long-lasting performance.
  • Dual Cook — Automatically switches between two cooking modes and temperatures for perfect results.
  • Convection Mode — Circulates hot air for faster, even cooking and golden-crisp results.

Editor’s Pick Bonuses:

  • It’s so sleek-looking! The displays don’t “show” until you turn it on so it’s just the sleek, stainless steel, nob and glass when it’s off, making it look really good on the countertop.
  • Because it’s portable, you could take it to someone else’s home who might need more cooking options for a big, holiday meal. After all, the Gourmia can cook a 20 lb turkey!
  • Note that there are no Teflon coatings which is a good thing in terms of chemicals we shouldn’t be ingesting.
  • I recommend washing all of the removable equipment and run the oven at a high temperature for a few minutes to burn off anything that may be remaining from the factory (I did the same thing with our range).

Gourmia is Perfect for Real Food Travelers

After unpacking the Gourmia, and being really impressed by how sleek it is, I looked at the Recipe Book and Cooking Chart that came with it. I was very pleasantly-surprised to find that, among the 30 recipes specifically created to work in the Gourmia, many were international recipes.

Here are some examples:

  • Moroccan Roast Chicken
  • Street Style Lamb Skewers
  • Porchetta Spiced Pork Roast
  • Crunchy Roasted Halibut with Miso Honey Glaze
  • Sriracha Air Fried Potatoes
  • Za’atar Spiced Chicken Bites
  • Bourbon Pecan Brownies
  • Tahini Date Bars
  • Sweet Potato “Pie”

I was so impressed! With the other air fryers I’ve bought, they focus on French fries and chicken nuggets (and similar items) but the Gourmia, true to the hint of its “gourmet” name, gives us a world of options!

How Well Does the Gourmia XL Digital Countertop Oven with Air Fry Work?

So far, great. We’ve made a variety of things from toast in the morning (it came out perfectly for once, without us having to watch it every second). We made homemade focaccia-style pizza and the crust came out puffy and crusty, and evenly-baked.

Baking Focaccia Pizza in our new Gourmia XL Digital Countertop Oven with Air Fry

We inaugurated the Gourmia with a homemade Focaccia Pizza which came out perfectly.

And, from the recipe book, we made the Shawarma Chicken Thighs (we use boneless, skinless versus their recommended bone-in and skin-on but the cooking time was the same). It was delicious.

Souvlaki Chicken, quinoa and broccoli from the Gourmia Oven

We used the Gourmia’s Recipe Book to make this Souvlaki Chicken, which we served with tri-colored quinoa and steamed broccoli. Not shown are the sweet potatoes we baked while preparing the chicken.

I’m anxious to try dishes I listed above but also Coconut Shrimp with Lime Aioli, Elotes, Dilly Beans and Lemon Yogurt Cake. And, I can’t wait to try making popcorn! How is that done? By spreading the popcorn kernels on a flat tray and placing the “basket” tray over it. Brilliant. Because it pops on the tray, that makes drizzling butter or seasonings over it easy.

The Gourmia Recipe Book and Cooking Chart also has a handy Air Fry Cooking Chart (vegetables, poultry, fish & seafood, beef, pork amd lamb amd frozen foods) and Dehydrate Chart (fruit, fresh herbs, tomatoes, mushrooms, ginger root and pineapple to name a few). I am going to have so much fun with the Gourmia!
