Knork flatware is beautifully styled and elegantly designed. At first glance, it looks like any other piece of stainless steel flatware. But if you look closely, the tine of the fork (both the entrée and salad fork) are more curved at the end than other forks and the neck of the Knork fork is thicker and heavier. The result is a fork that enables you to cut many foods and spear them easily without using a knife.
I tried the Knork forks on a number of foods, including twice-baked potatoes, pulled pork, lamb stew, and prime rib. The Knork fork cut through the baked potatoes, the pork, and even the stew meat easily. The prime rib was a bit more difficult so I resorted to using the super-sharp knife that comes with the flatware set. Unlike a lot of flatware, the Knork knives actually have a nice cutting edge. However, their shape also enables them to be used to spread butter on a soft bread without tearing it.
Elegant Design, Ergonomic Feel
Knork flatware feels like any good quality flatware. It has an ergonomic design and balanced weight that’s pleasing to both the hand and eye The flatware comes in five piece place settings (knife, place fork, salad fork, tablespoon and teaspoon), all made with high-quality stainless steel (with 18% chromium) in matt or gloss. Knork comes boxed in five-piece sets for four (20 pieces) and sets of demitasse spoons and cocktail forks are also available.
Knork flatware feels substantial. This is flatware that’ll last a lifetime (comes with a limited lifetime warranty). It’s dishwasher safe, so it’s also easy care, and the stainless steel ensures the shine will last.
In fact, Knork flatware has proven so popular and versatile, it’s been adopted by a number of acclaimed chefs, including Stefan Richter of Stefan’s at LA Farm, Chris Cosentino at PIGG, Ricardo Zarate of Picca and Mochica in LA, Aaron Sanchez from Mestizo, Richard Blais of FLiP Burger, Homaro Cantu of iNG in Chicago, Chef Ludo at LudoBites, Adam Fleischam from Umami Burger restaurants, Kevin Gillespie from Gunshow, and Bryan Caswell from Reef in Houston , among others. And now it’s been adopted by the food editors at realfoodtraveler.com.
Real Bottom Line: Knork flatware is a great alternative for those who want single-handed eating without always having to resort to a knife and fork. It’s also well-made, nicely-styled flatware for everyday use or for entertaining. With its comfortable hand, good looks, and ease of use, Knork flatware has earned a permanent place in my kitchen and dining room.
